Meet the Authors

Rev. Patrick S. Morrow

After graduating from Southwest Baptist University (’02), Patrick Morrow served as a local representative for the United States Senate and later as a Chief of Staff in the Missouri Senate.  In 2013 the Morrows followed a call to ministry and theological education by packing up and moving to Waco, Texas.  Patrick graduated from Baylor’s Truett Theological Seminary with an MDiv in 2017. (Sic ’Em Bears!)

While in Seminary, Patrick served as a graduate assistant and focused his studies on biblical languages and church history. He has a special love for Reformation Era theology and history. This season of study deepened his love for Jesus, his commitment to the supreme authority of scripture, and his appreciation of the great tradition as a rich resource for mission, ministry, and discipleship.

Patrick met his wife Amy while attending Southwest Baptist University, and they were married in 2001. They have two teenage daughters Caitlin and Rhiannon.

When he is not working or studying, Patrick loves to camp with his family, take hikes with his black lab, read, or nerd-out about historical theology and liturgy.

Rev. Wm. David Stone

David Stone is the husband to a wonderful bride, Jenny, and dad to great boys, Taylor and Tucker. He has served in churches in Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. Currently, he is a Campus Minister with the Baptist Student Union at Missouri State University.

David and Jenny were both born and raised in the Ozarks of Southwest Missouri, specifically Springfield, MO. Jenny graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education (‘94). David earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Religious Studies from Missouri State University (‘95) (Go Bears!)

He and his wife, Jenny were married in the summer of ‘95 and moved to Pryor, OK where she was teaching vocal music at Pryor Jr. High School. David was the Minister of Music and Youth at Locust Grove, OK, and attended seminary extension classes on Mondays at Oklahoma Baptist University. The following year, the Stones moved to Fort Worth, TX so they could both finish their master’s degrees – Jenny, a Master of Arts in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy at Texas Christian University (‘98) and David, a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (‘99).

In his spare time (whatever that is), he enjoys hanging out with Jenny and the boys, chasing after two dogs (Franklin & Bocephus) and three (plus or minus) cats, learning to code websites, design cool things on his Apple computers, pretending to be a small farmer, and playing pretty mediocre golf.
